Formée en Design Textile à l’ESAA Duperré à Paris, puis en tissage à l’Académie royale des Beaux-Arts de Bruxelles, Mathilde Juliette Florence développe une pratique centrée sur la création de matières hybrides et tissées.

Elle débute au sein d’ateliers de production textile d’intérieur parisien pour des architectes d’intérieur, et poursuit aujourd’hui développant ses propres surfaces terre et textile. 

En 2024, elle est lauréate du Prix Savoir-faire en Transmission décerné par le BDMMA et intègre alors l’atelier de la céramiste Laurette Broll, spécialisée dans la recherche d’émaux et la production d’art de la table.

De cette rencontre naît une collaboration qui se poursuit aujourd’hui, autour de croisements entre terre et textile, entre techniques traditionnelles et expérimentations contemporaines. 

Trained in Textile Design at the École Supérieure des Arts Appliqués Duperré in Paris, and later in weaving at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels, Mathilde Juliette Florence has developed a practice focused on the creation of hybrid and woven materials.

She began her career in Parisian textile production studios, collaborating with interior architects, before turning to the development of her own surfaces that intertwine clay and textile.

In 2024, she was awarded the Prix Savoir-faire en Transmission by the BDMMA and joined the studio of ceramic Laurette Broll, renowned for her research into glazes and the creation of tableware.

From this encounter emerged a continuing collaboration exploring intersections between clay and textile, as well as between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary experimentation.
